eKco allows you to create three (3) different types of content on your account:
Here is a quick summary of the difference and usage for each of the three different types of content.
As simple as it sounds. A Single Video content type contains exactly that – a single video. A video can be either FLV, MOV, MP4, WMV, or non-DRM M4V format, and be made up of a main video and a preview video.
Single Videos are great for conveying straightforward and simple chunks of content to your customers that can be easily and readily digested.
For more information see our Uploading a single video guide.
Where a Single Video is not sufficient for your needs, for example, if you require a course type structure that is made up of many different components, the Structured Course content type is the optimal one for your use.
Structured Courses can be made up of videos, audio files, and documents, and can contain an almost unlimited number of content items to mix and match to fit your desired structure for your course.
For the content items that go into a Structured Course, eKco currently supports the following file types:
- Video: FLV, MOV, MP4, WMV, non-DRM M4V
- Audio: MP3, MP4, OGG
- Documents: DOC, DOCX, PDF, PPT
For more information see our Uploading a structured course guide.
If you have a lot of content on your eKco account, you might want to package it up as a Playlist either for easier access for your customers, or also to offer discounts for purchasing as a package. Once a customer purchases a Playlist, they will have access to all of the content that you have added into the Playlist.
A Playlist can have an unlimited combination of Single Videos and Structured Courses. The only thing we don’t recommend is putting a Playlist within another Playlist as that can cause problems with assigning the right content to your customers.
For more information see our Creating a playlist guide.
